Rose Faquir
Clinical Director / Principal Trauma Psychotherapist /

Rose Faquir, the Founder and Clinical Director of Restoring Peace Counselling and Consultancy Pte Ltd, has over 13 years of experience as a clinical counsellor and psychotherapist. While working in social services, Rose observed that her clients frequently could not move forward in their healing journey because of unresolved childhood trauma. That observation led Rose to invest in various trauma-informed training. Rose founded Restoring Peace to focus on clinical work and her interest in helping trauma survivors. Rose also provides clinical supervision to professional counsellors and counselling students.

Before her venture into the people-helping profession, Rose worked in several industries, including hotel and advertising. She also volunteered extensively in social services. Due to unfortunate circumstances, she experienced traumatic events which brought her into the valley of the shadow of darkness and triggered unresolved childhood trauma. She decided to pursue counselling professionally as she healed from the past.

Rose's approach to counselling is strength-based and holistic. She is competent in many counselling modalities and provides brief and long-term therapy. As a trauma psychotherapist, her primary modality is EMDR, which she customised according to her client's unique needs. Where appropriate, Rose integrates Somatic Experiencing (SE), Brainspotting, Sandtray, Internal Family System and Expressive Arts into her EMDR treatment. She also holds a safe space for her clients who prefer talking therapy.

Rose's provides therapy for acute and complex trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, addiction, family violence, personality disorder, PTSD and psychosis. Her unique identity, prior working experience in multi-industry, and her restoration from ashes to beauty enable her to connect with people from diverse socials, faiths, beliefs and cultural backgrounds.

Rose's accreditations include Registered Clinical Counsellor (RC) and Clinical Supervisor (RCS) with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC), Certified EMDR therapist with EMDRS and EMDRIA, Expressive Arts and Sandplay and Symbol Works Therapist with Expressive Therapies Australia. A firm believer in lifelong learning, Rose attends regular training with consultants from Singapore and overseas.

Despite her hectic schedule, Rose finds time to socialise, cook, exercise, and travel. She also enjoys trying out cafes and power naps.
